Old School Fridays!! DE LA SOUL: “Buddy”

This old school track makes me think of doing the Soul Train Line. It’s the perfect tempo for that kinda group groovin’. And what a group of rappers on this track! DE LA SOUL, Q-TIP, PHIFE (in the extended mix), THE JUNGLE BROTHERS, QUEEN LATIFAH and MONIE LOVE. Produced by PRINCE PAUL, Buddy was the third single released off DE LA’s ’89 debut album 3 Feet and Rising. The title Buddy does not refer to a friend, it means “bodies of all kind.” This song is about the love and need for bodies. AKA sex!!
