BALAM ACAB: “Big Boy”

This is the closest thing to a sunny day that we’re gonna get out of the witch house/drag/post rap genre. BALAM ACAB, one of the first artists to really force us to take the idea of a movement seriously, constructs an environment on Big Boy that is as sunny as it is disconnected; an aspect to this style that we never even considered. It works really well and reminds us that influences push and pull each other, and that it is not merely a coincidence that this 2010 phenomenon is following so closely on the heels of so much other electronic progression.
